About Alicia McDaniel
Fort Worth Fire Department was nominated by Denise Bester of Our Infinite Company.
In every sense of the word, Sgt. McDaniel is a hero—steadfast in service, bold in purpose, and overflowing with compassion. She wears many uniforms: Active Reserve Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps, Fort Worth firefighter, and a proud member of the Fort Worth Honor Guard. But beyond the badges and ranks, Sgt. McDaniel is a living example of what it means to lead with both strength and heart.
At just 135 pounds, Sgt. McDaniel defies every stereotype. In two of the most physically and mentally demanding fields—military service and firefighting—she not only holds her ground, she excels. And she uses her platform to do more than protect and serve; she inspires.
Sgt. McDaniel is passionate about encouraging young women and girls to believe in their limitless potential. She tells them they can be anything and shows them by example, whether she's mentoring the next generation, attending community events, or simply offering a kind word. Sgt. McDaniel consistently lifts others higher.
Her commitment to her community goes beyond her professional duties. Sgt. McDaniel is the proud owner of The Albatross Indoor Golf in Denton, TX, where locals come together to meet and enjoy a game or two. She is also a fantastic mom, which alone speaks volumes to her character. She regularly engages in service and local outreach, supporting school supply drives and other regional efforts that make a real difference for families in need. She is deeply involved in helping strengthen her city—not just through emergency response, but through compassion, action, and hands-on care.
She's not just strong—she's resilient. She's not just brave—she's fun-loving and deeply kind. Her infectious energy, grounded humility, and unwavering commitment to others make her a light in every room and a rock in every storm.
"Sgt. McDaniel doesn't seek praise. She seeks purpose. She gives her best in silence, expecting nothing in return. That's why we are proud to break the silence for her—by nominating Alicia for the DoGood Hero Award. She is a force for good, a beacon of hope, and an accurate representation of what it means to serve with heart," said Bester.
