About Anthony April

Anthony April was nominated by Johnny Neal of Trinity Star Insurance.

Trooper April is a proud supporter of the Young Lions of Alaska program. This program was created to address the alarming rate of disproportionate arrests of minority males. As an African American in law enforcement, Trooper April has first-hand experience in helping youth understand what it takes to become successful citizens in society. With his military and law enforcement background, he can work with affected youth and give them the educational and people skills necessary to become productive citizens. As these students become adults, Trooper April mentors them and helps them build the skills they need to engage effectively with society. He also helps students apply those skill sets in a post-secondary educational setting.

Trooper April also supports the King Tech High School STEM program. Through his church activities in the Shiloh Community Development Incorporated (SCDI) Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, and Digital Arts program, Trooper April volunteers to introduce youth to STEM fields. As such, Trooper April ensures students will participate in projects that will foster their interests in the STEM field.
